Hello, and welcome to ValisRad.com.

You have found your way here, so let me fill you in on what is currently in the mix! While I continue to edit full time for Fox's Cristina's Court, I am also producing several series for Current.tv, in association with Sa-Voir. The first is a mini documentary series on the unique and interesting facets of Houston, Texas. This series covers fascinating events, artistic functions, and little-known architectural treasures that make Houston one of a kind. The second series is coined, "A Day in the Life of" and centers around, what else, food! Oh, you weren't expecting me to say food? This production highlights talented chefs excelling in their art, which we often take for granted. It will show what exactly goes into the making of some of our favorite, though oft times complicated, foods. Finally, the third series is all about travel - not just in Houston, not even just in Texas, but the quirky, remarkable, adventuresome spirit that drives us onward and outward - be it just down the winding back roads, or across the world.

I graduated with my B.S. in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2003. I have been making short video productions since I was 12 years old and got into broadcasting in high school on our weekly closed-circuit TV program, 'ECTV'. In 1999 I joined 'Reel Women' and 'Austin Film Society' - though I was still living and attending my second year of college in San Antonio. In 2000 I moved to Austin and became the loyal Longhorn I am today.

I have worked in both film and television in almost every imaginable facet. I have run tape for live feeds on the news, dubbed commercials, and edited for sports. I have also worked on both studio feature films as well as independent movies. I have experience editing commercials and directing, producing, taping, lighting and editing everything from fashion shows to film shorts, including client testimonials, graduations, and weddings.

For as long as I can remember I have loved film and the escapism and excitement it offers. Editing is the final creative process a film or video goes through, and can make or break the entire piece. A good editing job should be rhythmic and barely noticeable, but should make an emotional impact on the viewer. With my services, you will get exactly that and nothing less.

So look around, have a good time, and shoot me a line if you have any questions, need any advice, or would like to discuss any upcoming projects.

Ciao for now!
-Val!
